Pulse Secure Brings Convenience, Security to 7-Eleven’s In-Store Network

7‑Eleven, the leading convenience‑store chain with thousands of locations in North America and tens of thousands globally, needed a secure, reliable in‑store network to support item‑by‑item replenishment, real‑time ordering from handhelds, and tighter collaboration between franchisees and corporate. The company’s challenge was to refresh routing, switching, wireless and security infrastructure across roughly 7,000 stores so managers could reduce fresh‑food waste, increase sales, and maintain PCI compliance while scaling operations.

Using Juniper and Pulse Secure technologies — including SRX210 gateways, EX2200 switches, AX411 Wi‑Fi, J2350 routers, Pulse Policy Secure, and Pulse Secure appliances/clients — 7‑Eleven consolidated transactions, operations and digital signage onto a single secure network. The rollout enabled store managers to place orders in the morning and receive product the next day, centralized security and policy enforcement across all sites, simplified management at scale, supported guest and remote access, and ensured PCI DSS compliance while allowing flexible WAN options (3G/4G) for expansion and backup.
