A Pulse Case Study
Galesburg Orthopedic Services, a three‑physician practice founded in 1978 with four satellite offices and an 18‑member support staff, needed to replace its paper‑based clinical documentation to qualify for Meaningful Use incentives and avoid looming Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement cuts. The practice required an EHR that could accommodate orthopaedic workflows, improve access to charts across exam, therapy and imaging areas, reduce lost records, and support better surgery scheduling.
Galesburg implemented the integrated Pulse Orthopaedic EHR and PulsePro Practice Management, configured to its specialty workflow and deployed with onsite training and go‑live support in September 2012. The practice eliminated transcription and paper charts, sped access to records, improved documentation that increased reimbursement, reduced claim denials, enhanced scheduling for surgeries, and positioned itself to attest for Meaningful Use.
