American Heart/Marcus Stroke Network - Customer Case Study

The American Heart/Marcus Stroke Network (MSN) is a multi‑hospital collaboration led by the American Heart Association to improve timely, effective stroke care across Georgia. MSN faced a specific challenge to reduce the manual data‑abstraction burden for hospitals and EMS and to build a collaborative, communicative system linking prehospital and hospital teams. To address this, the American Heart Association partnered with Pulsara and deployed Pulsara’s secure, cloud‑based communication platform.

Pulsara implemented its real‑time communication network across participating MSN hospitals, enabling discrete data‑point collection with upload to Get With The Guidelines–Stroke, EMS‑to‑hospital video conferencing, instant consults, transfer workflows, and document/media sharing; Pulsara agreed to provide full functionality to all sites. The solution streamlined data capture and team coordination, reduced manual entry, and created regional interoperability — with studies of the Pulsara platform reporting an average treatment‑time reduction of nearly 30%, demonstrating clear measurable impact on speed and coordination of stroke care.
