Case Study: Longview Regional Medical Center achieves record-fast STEMI door-to-reperfusion times with Pulsara

How one hospital is reducing door-to-reperfusion times by activating STEMI care sooner for patients arriving by ambulance

Longview Regional Medical Center (LRMC), an accredited PCI chest pain center serving rural northeast Texas, wanted to shave precious minutes off already-acceptable STEMI door-to-reperfusion times after identifying unreliable EMS-to-hospital ECG transmission and fragmented communication that limited pre-arrival activations. To solve this, LRMC implemented Pulsara’s healthcare communication platform to provide a reliable way for EMS to send 12-lead ECGs and coordinate care with the ED and cardiology teams.

Using Pulsara to activate STEMI care from the field and share patient data with the entire care team, LRMC reduced door-to-reperfusion times by 13.4% overall (59.7 → 52.2 minutes) and cut EMS-transported patient times by 34% in year one (56 → just under 40 minutes), improving to an average 36 minutes in year two and achieving a record 17-minute door-to-balloon—clear, measurable evidence of Pulsara’s impact on faster, safer treatment.
