Walwick Hall, a Grade‑2‑listed Georgian manor turned boutique country hotel in rural Northumberland, needed modern, reliable connectivity without damaging its historic fabric. Pulsant was brought in to provide consultancy and managed network services to overcome thick walls, restrictive listed‑building rules and a rural lack of broadband, while delivering two separate secure Wi‑Fi networks for guests and for payment/POS systems.

Pulsant implemented creative fixes—using the electrical system for part of the ground‑floor connectivity and installing Wi‑Fi access points above ceilings to protect the décor—alongside a resilient fibre connection (providing 30 Mbps today, scalable to 100 Mbps), a wired LAN linking the main hall and three outbuildings, and two separate secure Wi‑Fi networks across the estate. The result is faster, more reliable internet with failover protection, seamless guest services and no visible impact to the building’s appearance; Walwick Hall has since asked Pulsant to extend connectivity to a private lodge on site.
