Case Study: IXScotland achieves faster, more resilient regional connectivity with Pulsant colocation

A Pulsant Case Study

Preview of the IXScotland Case Study

Supporting Scotland’s digital future with IXScotland

IXScotland, launched by LINX to keep internet traffic local and build a regional exchange in Edinburgh, needed carrier‑neutral, resilient datacentre hosting and colocation to support growth and better service for local networks. To meet those requirements, LINX partnered with Pulsant to provide the necessary facility and operational support for the exchange.

Pulsant hosted the IXScotland infrastructure in its South Gyle tier‑3, ISO 27001‑accredited datacentre, providing colocation, rack space, 24/7 security and connectivity into its 14‑site datacentre fabric with carrier‑neutral interconnection. As a result, IXScotland now connects 23 members (each offered 1Gb capacity), delivers faster, more efficient local traffic that no longer needs to route via London, and provides the resilience and peering capability to support regional growth and Scotland’s digital ambitions.
