A Pulsant Case Study
Alzheimer Scotland, the leading dementia charity in Scotland with around 1,000 staff and 650 volunteers working across offices, service centres, shops and mobile sites, needed a cost‑effective, reliable way for its widely distributed workforce to connect to corporate IT, communications and email. The charity has worked with Pulsant, a cloud, colocation and managed hosting provider, to extend its head‑office connectivity and support needs using services such as private DSL/WAN, SIP trunk telephony, managed hosting and managed applications.
Pulsant implemented a private DSL/WAN and hosted SIP trunks from its Newbridge datacentre, migrated and now manages Alzheimer Scotland’s email platform, delivered Microsoft Lync across the organisation in three weeks and is hosting SharePoint for future rollout. The result is improved connectivity for remote sites, faster user provisioning, reduced travel through video conferencing, lower operational costs and a stronger support capability—Pulsant effectively acting as an extended IT team and delivering the stated outcomes of reduced cost and improved service.
