A Pulsant Case Study
Aberlour Scotland's Children's Charity, which supports children, young people and families across Scotland, faced ageing head‑office servers, complex backup processes and a need to move to an OPEX financing model while meeting strict data‑protection obligations. To remove reliance on on‑premise hardware, improve backup reliability and ensure regulatory compliance, the charity engaged Pulsant to provide hosting, colocation and backup services, including the Pulsant Enterprise Cloud platform and Asigra‑powered cloud backup.
Pulsant deployed its Enterprise Cloud in the South Gyle datacentre (ISO 27001), colocated Aberlour’s Cisco Meraki device so the cloud acted as an extension of the WAN, and delivered Asigra cloud backup with local compression, de‑duplication, encryption and a user portal for file‑level restores to a secondary Pulsant datacentre in Milton Keynes. The solution removed the head‑office single point of failure so remote sites can still access critical systems during outages, delivered improved business continuity and data accessibility, supported UK hosting/compliance requirements, and delivered the expected cost savings through the OPEX model.
