A Pulsant Case Study
US Integrated Circuits Supplier Company, having acquired a UK microelectronics business with sites in Edinburgh and the London area, faced imminent office and server-space constraints as it expanded. The company was already using Pulsant for hosting, disaster recovery and hybrid cloud services out of the Newbridge datacentre and sought a single, managed partner to provide scalable colocation, resilient power, connectivity and cooling for its Edinburgh and London operations.
Pulsant delivered colocation from its South Gyle (Edinburgh) and Maidenhead (London area) sites, migrated the customer’s entire IT estate into 18 racks at South Gyle, and provided diverse 1Gb and 10Gb connectivity between Edinburgh, London and a new Newbury site with redundant links between datacentres. The move—managed by Pulsant with a dedicated project manager—completed with no loss of service and delivered measurable benefits: 18 racks provisioned, high-capacity links, improved resilience and disaster recovery, lower costs and a highly efficient facility (South Gyle PUE 1.2) supporting the customer’s ongoing expansion.
