Ultima Business Solutions, a 24-year IT solutions provider that has evolved from a reseller into a solutions-focused organisation, needed a secure, scalable hosting environment close to its Reading support centre. Ultima approached Pulsant for a caged area in Pulsant’s Maidenhead datacentre and a platform that would support cloud infrastructure, colocation services and networking interconnects while meeting strict security and SLA requirements.

Pulsant delivered its Enterprise Cloud and managed cloud services — using HP software, a VMware hypervisor, a Cisco-backed network and Check Point security — and worked closely with Ultima through the Pulsant Partner Programme to migrate a number of customers and host Ultima’s own systems. As a result of Pulsant’s solution and ongoing collaboration Ultima achieved reduced costs, improved service and improved growth, with stronger SLA compliance and a scalable platform for future expansion.
