Lapworth Museum of Geology reaches Museum of the Year nomination with Pufferfish

The Lapworth Museum of Geology embarked on a large redevelopment project to bring its institution into the 21st century. Its challenge was to find new technology that would provide a fresh perspective on its collection and help visitors connect with geological history. To meet this challenge, the museum worked with vendor Pufferfish and its PufferSphere product.

Pufferfish provided an interactive globe that served as a canvas for data visualizations and animations relating to key earth science stories. The PufferSphere solution immersed visitors, offered a new way of learning, and stimulated deeper conversations. After the redevelopment, which was credited to its innovative technology, the Lapworth Museum of Geology was nominated for the prestigious Museum of the Year award.
