Happiest Baby’s SNOO Smart Sleeper is an award-winning, connected baby bed that soothes infants with automated rocking and white noise and lets parents control settings via a mobile app. As SNOO neared mass production, the team faced unreliable mobile-to-device communication from homegrown REST APIs using HTTP polling and needed a secure, scalable real-time infrastructure—after evaluating MQTT they selected PubNub.

PubNub now handles nearly all real-time traffic between the backend, app, and bassinet—control commands, status updates, logs and push notifications (implemented easily with BLOCKS). The platform simplified troubleshooting across teams, reduced the burden of building and maintaining access control and security, and helped Happiest Baby mitigate risk and bring SNOO to market faster.
