CrowdComfort Connects Building Occupants with Platform Using PubNub

CrowdComfort is a web and mobile building-management platform that lets occupants report maintenance and comfort issues and turns those reports into time-stamped, geolocated heat maps for facility operators. Their challenge was delivering true real-time syncing across thousands of web and mobile clients—traditional polling was too inefficient and building a bespoke real-time infrastructure would distract the startup from its core product.

CrowdComfort implemented the PubNub Data Stream Network for real-time messaging, push notifications, and fine-grained Access Manager controls, building a central notification service that routes messages, triggers emails, and updates apps. The result is a fast, reliable, and secure collaborative app with simplified infrastructure, easier feature development and maintenance, dependable out-of-app notifications, and precise control over who sees which data in real time.
