Novartis improved its pharmacy marketing

Novartis worked with PTV Group to redesign its German sales territories and improve route and visit planning for its consumer health and OTC pharmaceutical field force. The challenge was to create compact weekly call districts that reduced driving time, met required visit frequencies, and still allowed flexibility for last-minute changes in a fast-moving pharmaceutical market.

PTV Group used its Map&Market software to verify, harmonize, and geocode Novartis’s data, integrate it with the CRM, and optimize the weekly call districts and visiting schedules. The result was a flexible but efficient planning model with optimized travel and more effective customer coverage, and Novartis reported very positive feedback from the field force and the ability to quickly incorporate new customers or changed assignments.
