The Rambøll Group Deploys PTC Mathcad To Manage Calculations For 1,000 Engineers

Rambøll, the Copenhagen‑based Nordic engineering consultancy, faced the challenge of preserving and sharing critical engineering calculations that were scattered across spreadsheets, code, personal drives and paper—creating risk, wasted effort and lost intellectual capital. To solve this, Rambøll deployed PTC’s PTC Mathcad to standardize calculation management and make engineering math visible, auditable and reusable across the firm.

PTC implemented an intranet‑based PTC Mathcad repository and application server, providing live, document‑style worksheets and protected standard calculations to about 1,000 engineers in 20 Danish offices (with plans to expand to 2,000+). The PTC solution centralized and locked approved calculations, enabled faster project delivery, simplified quality assurance and regulator reporting, reduced rework, saved time and money, and used FLEXlm floating licensing to maximize software availability.
