SPP Pumps Ltd. Installs Creo and Windchill to Boost Success in Oil and Gas Industry
SPP Pumps, a UK designer and manufacturer of pumps for the oil & gas industry, faced the challenge of relying on 2D design and manually tracked, Excel-based documentation to meet the extensive documentation and insurance requirements of its customers. To modernize product development and document management, SPP implemented PTC solutions—primarily Creo for 3D CAD and Windchill ProjectLink (with Windchill PDMLink) for project, data and document management.
PTC’s Creo and Windchill implementation enabled virtual 3D prototyping, centralized data access for intercontinental teams, and lifecycle document control, eliminating error-prone email and spreadsheet workflows. As a result, SPP reduced engineering and manufacturing costs, improved collaboration with its Indian technical center, and expects positive cash-flow impact from timely, accurate documentation (realizing financial incentives), with plans to extend PTC tools to other divisions.
