Pratt & Whitney - Customer Case Study

Pratt & Whitney faced the challenge of integrating AeroPower after acquisition while one parts-management platform reached end-of-support, forcing a decision to converge disparate systems or risk losing essential services. They partnered with PTC to evaluate and upgrade from MCA v7 and SPM v9 to PTC’s SPM v11, engaging PTC’s Service Lifecycle Management and Customer Success teams to prove functionality and secure stakeholder buy‑in.

PTC implemented SPM v11 through a phased proof-and-upgrade approach, running legacy systems in parallel, combining the two upgrades to control costs, and leveraging templates and customer knowledge to accelerate deployment. The project was delivered on schedule and within budget—meeting 100% of scope—and gave Pratt & Whitney new capabilities (multi‑echelon optimization, improved GUI and forecasting) that improve parts availability and uptime; historically MCA v7 had already driven a 10% fill‑rate gain and 10% inventory reduction, and PTC’s consolidation extended and enhanced those benefits.
