Oerlikon, a global provider of turnkey solar panel production lines, needed a systematic way to capture and manage equipment failures, coordinate field technicians with in-house engineers, and ensure high system uptime to meet warranty and customer quality requirements. To solve this, Oerlikon selected PTC’s Windchill FRACAS to standardize failure reporting and escalation across its worldwide teams.
PTC configured Windchill FRACAS with web-based remote access, configurable workflows (including subtables and problem tables), automated alerts, and reliability analytics to track configurations, MTBF, failure rates, and uptime/downtime. The solution streamlined incident reporting and spare-parts workflows, accelerated engineering-change processes, gave account managers dashboard visibility, and enabled Oerlikon to monitor measurable reliability metrics and trend improvements to support warranty and quality targets.
