Lexmark shifted from consumer inkjets to a services- and software-led strategy and needed better real-time control of global parts inventory, process planning, and forecasting to support faster service-level agreements and more efficient multifunction-printer (MFP) deployments. To meet those challenges Lexmark turned to PTC, using PTC Planning/service-parts-management software integrated with its enterprise systems to gain a single, company-wide view of service operations and parts provisioning.
PTC’s solution gave Lexmark real-time visibility and analytics for inventory placement, provisioning and forecasting, enabling proactive issue resolution, extensive forward-stocking and faster-than-next-day restores. As a result—thanks to PTC—Lexmark reports improved decision-making and service delivery, sustaining about 99% SLA attainment, while its MFP workgroup designs and print-release features have helped customers cut printing costs by as much as 50%.
