A PTC Case Study
KHS, a global manufacturer of filling and packaging systems, needed to deliver highly hygienic, energy‑efficient bottling lines that minimize oxygen pickup and speed time to market for customers such as the Hirsch Brewery. To meet those challenges KHS turned to PTC and its PTC Creo suite for 3D design, validation, visualization, and simulation throughout product development.
Using PTC Creo, PTC Creo View, and PTC Creo Simulate, PTC enabled KHS to implement a Hygienic Design for the Innofill Glass DRS‑ZMS filler and validate assemblies with customers on a 3D powerwall. The result: oxygen levels cut to 0.02–0.008 mg/L (5–12× better), production up to 24,000 bottles/hour, electrical consumption down ~15% (electric drive power 40% lower), part weight reduced up to 25%, development time shortened from 30 to 12 months, and the Innofill DRS‑ZMS is already exceeding sales forecasts — all achieved with PTC’s solutions.
