Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary and leader in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for ISR missions, faced rapid growth and complex software demands that required end-to-end traceability, strict safety and contractual compliance (including CMMI Level III and IBM DOORS integration), and the ability to scale without adding headcount. To meet these challenges, Insitu selected PTC and its PTC Integrity Lifecycle Manager as an all-in-one ALM solution to manage requirements, change control, testing, and artifact traceability across ground control, autopilot, payload and navigation software.

PTC implemented PTC Integrity Lifecycle Manager as a single source of truth, enabling integrated requirements management, test reporting, and cross-discipline visibility. As a result, Insitu achieved CMMI Level III in fewer than nine months without additional staff, won a DoD contract, improved transparency and collaboration, reduced test time and time-to-market, and gained scalable traceability (including DOORS integration) to support platform reuse and evolving development processes.
