A PTC Case Study
Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. was facing rapidly increasing embedded-software complexity and stricter vehicle functional-safety requirements under ISO 26262, which demanded comprehensive, auditable traceability across design and verification. After finding manual approaches like Excel inadequate, the company selected PTC’s solution, PTC Integrity, to support safety-related requirement and traceability management.
PTC implemented PTC Integrity to link requirements, specifications, source code, and test cases across the entire development lifecycle—architecture, detailed design, coding, and testing—so safety evidence can be quickly verified. Using PTC Integrity, Hitachi cut time spent on ISO 26262 traceability management from about 40 hours to about 8 hours (an 80% reduction), improving development efficiency and the ability to demonstrate compliance.
