A PTC Case Study
The British Columbia Institute of Technology Nuclear Medicine Technology program needed a better way to teach the complex mathematical relationships that drive nuclear imaging, update materials quickly as the field evolves, and pack more learning into a standard semester. To address these challenges BCIT partnered with PTC and adopted PTC Mathcad to create clear, textbook-like calculations and interactive tutorials that complement existing classroom methods.
PTC implemented PTC Mathcad worksheets that integrate formulas, visualizations, and parameter-driven interactivity so students can immediately see how changes affect imaging. The PTC solution cut learning time in half—students grasp difficult content in 50% of the time compared to the previous acetate-and-markers approach—allowing more practice on imaging techniques, and the interactive tutorials earned second place at the Society of Nuclear Medicine Conference.
