Fujitsu Improves ECAD-MCAD Data Exchange with PTC Creo ECAD-MCAD Collaboration

Fujitsu Network Communications, a leading provider of IT and carrier‑class telecommunications solutions, faced persistent ECAD‑MCAD collaboration challenges: exchanging large databases using traditional IDF methods was inefficient, and change communication between domains was manual and error‑prone. To address this, Fujitsu turned to PTC and its PTC Creo ECAD‑MCAD Collaboration (ECX) data‑exchange solution.

PTC implemented ECX using the IDX exchange format and the Compare functionality to accurately identify, manage and track changes across multiple design centers and time zones. As a result, Fujitsu can exchange ECAD/MCAD data more efficiently and frequently, automatically view the impact of proposed changes, accept or reject revisions with history tracked in the design, and expects reduced errors, shorter design cycles and fewer prototype spins.
