Cypress Reduces Calculation and Analysis Time by 50% with PTC Mathcad

Cypress Semiconductor, a designer and manufacturer of embedded system-on-chip semiconductors (flash memory, microcontrollers, mixed-signal and analog products), faced the need to speed up and standardize engineering analyses, reduce errors, and improve knowledge sharing across teams. To meet these goals they worked with PTC and adopted PTC Mathcad to replace ad hoc Excel-based calculations and streamline their engineering workflows.

PTC implemented standardized PTC Mathcad templates that enforced units and clarified math, speeding unit conversions and reducing miscommunication compared with Excel. As a result, PTC Mathcad cut calculation and analysis time by 50%—for example, a task that took 90 minutes in Excel required only 45 minutes in Mathcad—while minimizing errors and improving overall calculation accuracy.
