Continental’s Use of the PTC Integrity RIF-Adapter

Continental AG, a supplier of electronic embedded systems to automotive OEMs, struggled with time-consuming, error-prone manual exchanges of requirements (static MS Word) and the challenge of managing frequent OEM changes across organizations and technologies. To address this, Continental AG used PTC’s Integrity Requirements Interchange Format (RIF) adapter (ReqIF 1.0.1) to standardize and automate requirements exchange.

PTC implemented the Integrity RIF adapter to import/export ReqIF XML, enabling automated updates, end-to-end traceability from OEM requirements to implementation, and role-based categorization and access controls to protect intellectual property. The PTC solution produced measurable benefits: time savings in managing requirements exchanges, improved accuracy and thoroughness on initial import, reduced change cycle time through automated updates, and enhanced collaboration and secure data sharing across partners and geographies.
