A PTC Case Study
CNB Yachts, a Bordeaux-based builder of yachts and superyachts, faced the challenge of designing increasingly complex, large composite vessels like the CNB 76 with millimeter-level precision, optimized mass, and tight schedules while coordinating hull, interiors, piping, electrical systems, manufacturing, and client approvals. To meet these demands CNB turned to PTC and its PTC Creo design suite to create fully detailed 3D models and digital mock-ups that support concurrent engineering and multi‑discipline collaboration.
PTC delivered a solution combining PTC Creo and PTC Windchill PLM, enabling concurrent 3D design, schematic integration, multi-CAD interoperability, and up-to-date digital mock-ups across the company. The results with PTC include faster, more accurate development—CNB 76 moved from concept to production in 24 months; reuse of 3D data reduced prior model development from 12,000 hours to 4,300–5,200 hours; and CNB cut more than six months from the CNB 77 cycle—while eliminating much of the previous mock-up rework and improving productivity across engineering and manufacturing.
