Boart Longyear Realizes Quick Windchill PDMLink Updates with PTC Cloud Services
Boart Longyear, a global mineral exploration and drilling products company, struggled with their large Windchill PDMLink installation—300 Windchill users and 2.6 TB of data across production and two non-production environments—after experiencing poor support and delayed updates from a previous cloud vendor. To regain control and efficiency, Boart Longyear engaged PTC and moved to the PTC Cloud (PTC Cloud Services) to better manage Windchill and related PLM/IoT tools.
PTC’s Cloud Services team implemented a dedicated technical point of contact, consistent communications on support ticket status, and regular satisfaction surveys, while handling day-to-day technical questions and upgrades. As a result, PTC delivered 100% transparency of support ticket status, improved performance that allowed Boart Longyear to reduce the number of replication servers, and smooth, quick version updates within months of operation.
