Case Study: Andritz Hydro achieves faster, more accurate engineering calculations with PTC Mathcad (PTC)

Andritz Hydro, a global supplier of electromechanical systems for hydropower plants, faced the need for a robust engineering calculation tool to produce accurate water-turbine designs, improve calculation verification, and simplify reuse of existing work for new projects. To address these challenges they evaluated and adopted PTC’s solution, using PTC Mathcad to support complex engineering calculations.

PTC implemented PTC Mathcad, enabling engineers to work in natural math notation with a white‑board interface, leverage engineering libraries and templates, and quickly reuse calculation sheets for new projects. As a result, PTC helped Andritz Hydro reduce engineering calculation time, improve documentation and reuse, accelerate initiation of design calculations, and increase calculation accuracy.
