A PTC Case Study
adidas Group, a global leader in footwear, apparel and sports equipment, struggled with fragmented systems after acquiring Reebok: islands of information, legacy technologies that hindered factory collaboration, no single materials repository, and costly retraining across divisions. To unify its multi-brand, multi-product organization, adidas turned to PTC and adopted PTC’s Windchill FlexPLM and Windchill PLM solutions as a web-based platform tailored for retail, footwear and apparel.
PTC implemented a company-wide PLM foundation that created a single product database and materials repository, enabled easier collaboration with external partners, reduced cycle times, and improved design-to-cost with fewer changes and flexible workflows across brands. The result was measurable speed and efficiency gains—adidas now introduces thousands of new products every 180 days and can move new apparel and graphics into manufacturing within 24 hours—and is migrating additional brands to PTC’s FlexPLM/Windchill.
