3M’s Aerospace and Aircraft Maintenance division, a leading supplier of adhesives for military and commercial aircraft, faced the challenge of managing complex, repeatable calculations that characterize material and adhesive behavior under extreme conditions. To reduce risk of error, enable reuse of tested calculations, and speed development while improving collaboration, 3M turned to PTC and its PTC Mathcad software.

PTC delivered PTC Mathcad’s self‑documenting, live‑math “whiteboard” environment to model, archive and visualize mechanical property data, run time‑temperature superposition analyses, and generate master curves. By making calculations transparent and easily shareable, PTC helped 3M improve collaboration and design QA, reduce errors, shorten development time and increase engineering productivity.
