A PTC PLM Case Study

Preview of the SPP Pumps Case Study

SPP Pumps Ltd. Installs Creo and Windchill to Boost Success in Oil and Gas Industry

SPP Pumps, a long-established UK designer and manufacturer of pumps for the oil & gas industry, was relying on 2D design and manual Excel tracking for the extensive documentation required by customers and insurers. To modernize design and meet strict documentation and collaboration needs—including work with a technical center in India—SPP Pumps engaged PTC PLM and adopted Creo along with Windchill ProjectLink and Windchill PDMLink.

PTC PLM implemented 3D design with Creo and centralized project, data and document management with Windchill ProjectLink/PDMLink, enabling virtual prototyping, concurrent engineering and a single database for global teams. As a result, SPP Pumps has reduced engineering and manufacturing costs, improved offshore collaboration, and expects positive cash-flow impact by delivering timely, accurate documentation that captures financial incentives—outcomes PTC PLM’s solutions are now being considered for rollout across other divisions.
