Rosenbauer, a global leader in mobile firefighting equipment that produces 250–350 vehicles across roughly 80 platforms with more than 2,000 options, faced the challenge of managing extensive product variants and coordinating mechanical, electrical and software engineering while meeting strict safety and regulatory requirements. To address this complexity, Rosenbauer partnered with PTC PLM, deploying a suite of PTC solutions including Creo, Windchill, ThingWorx IoT, Integrity, Servigistics, Arbortext and PTC Mathcad.

PTC PLM implemented an integrated PLM/CAD/IoT/SLM approach—centered on Windchill and Creo with ThingWorx and related tools—to create modular product platforms, standardize variant management and improve cross-discipline collaboration. As a result, Rosenbauer reduced time-to-market and sustained high product quality for complex, regulated firefighting vehicles, enabling efficient delivery of hundreds of vehicle variants (250–350 units annually) derived from about 80 platforms and over 2,000 options while maintaining its market leadership.
