A PTC PLM Case Study
KHS, a global manufacturer of filling and packaging systems, needed to deliver highly hygienic, low-oxygen, energy‑efficient bottling lines for customers like the Hirsch Brewery while shortening design cycles and enabling clear customer visualization. To meet those challenges KHS relied on PTC PLM, using PTC PLM’s PTC Creo suite (including Creo View and Creo Simulate) to support Hygienic Design, modular architecture, and multi‑CAD collaboration.
PTC PLM’s solutions enabled KHS to redesign machine geometry, validate assemblies on a 3D powerwall, and simulate lighter, stiffer parts—cutting design time from 30 to 12 months (>50% reduction). The Innofill Glass DRS‑ZMS built with these tools achieves oxygen levels of 0.02–0.008 mg/L (5–12× improvement), up to 25% lower weight, ~15% lower electrical consumption via lighter components and 40% less electric drive power versus similar models, plus 24,000 bottles/hour capacity and sales exceeding forecasts.
