Fujitsu - Customer Case Study

Fujitsu Network Communications, a provider of IT and carrier-class telecommunications solutions, was struggling with ECAD–MCAD collaboration: large databases made traditional data exchange (e.g., IDF) inefficient, exchanging entire designs was difficult, and change communications were handled manually. To address this, Fujitsu worked with PTC PLM and evaluated PTC Creo ECAD‑MCAD Collaboration (ECX) as the targeted product/service to improve cross‑domain data exchange.

PTC PLM implemented PTC Creo ECAD‑MCAD Collaboration (ECX) using IDX as the ECAD‑MCAD data exchange format and added the Compare functionality to automate impact analysis and track change history. The solution enabled more frequent, efficient exchanges between ECAD and MCAD across multiple design centers and time zones, provided automated change review and acceptance workflows, and is expected to reduce errors, shorten design cycle times, and decrease prototype spins.
