Microsoft Corporation’s Legal and Corporate Affairs division was overwhelmed by paper: roughly 35,000 files on hand growing by about 3,000 files per month, with lengthy multi‑ream records making retrieval slow and costly. To solve this, Microsoft engaged PSIGEN Software to deploy PSIcapture scanning and metadata capture integrated with Microsoft SharePoint for digital access and improved records management.

PSIGEN Software implemented PSIcapture enterprise workstations with Canon high‑volume desktop scanners to index documents, embed metadata, and automatically route files into SharePoint libraries. The project has scanned over one million pages, enabled 24/7 virtual access, dramatically reduced the paper footprint, cut retrieval/copying/distribution costs, and will finish digitizing remaining file‑room records in about three months—allowing Microsoft to downsize physical storage and streamline legal workflows.
