Wheatbelt Inc., a stockholder-owned distributor and buying group founded in 1955 that supports more than 175 members and over 400 retail outlets, was processing roughly 20,000 paper invoices per month. Reliant on USPS and manual sorting that consumed about 35% of clerical time, invoice cycles took 7–14 business days and attempts to move to EDI/email failed because many mom-and‑pop stores lacked the necessary technology. PSIGEN Software implemented PSIcapture with high‑speed scanning (Canon 110 and Panasonic 4085) and a Filebound repository to capture, Bates‑stamp, index and migrate invoices for direct retailer access. The new workflow reduced invoice turnaround from 7–14 days to 24–48 hours (1–2 days), eliminated paper filing and pulling, improved staff productivity, and enabled ongoing data extraction and easier document retrieval for Wheatbelt and its retail partners.
