Furniture Importer Saves over $200k Capturing Invoices

Steve Silver Co., a Forney, TX–based furniture manufacturer and distributor, was overwhelmed by paper: 500–1,000 invoices a day stored in 25 filing cabinets, frequent scanning backlogs, costly temporary labor and difficulty locating documents. They engaged The Strickland Group and PSIGEN Software, adopting PSIGEN Software’s PSIcapture (with Classification) to integrate scanned invoices into their M-Files ECM.

PSIGEN Software implemented a PSIcapture workflow that classifies documents, extracts key data and routes searchable PDFs to M-Files with exceptions emailed for quick correction. The backlog disappeared in a day, a receptionist now scans about an hour a day, invoice find-rate rose from ~75% to ~98%, audits are much easier, and the company realized raw wage savings “well in excess of six figures” in the first year while reducing file-cabinet storage and boosting productivity.
