Malt-O-Meal, a Minneapolis-based cereal manufacturer with a large production workforce, needed a valid and reliable way to screen applicants for production jobs while improving quality of hire and managing a high volume of candidates. To address this challenge, Malt-O-Meal partnered with PSI True Talent to build a selection process tailored to the competencies needed for success.
PSI True Talent delivered a custom solution that included job analysis, a competency model, online biodata and cognitive assessments, and structured interview guides with clear decision rules. The system screened out low-potential applicants, reduced interview time, and gave managers more confidence in candidate quality; Malt-O-Meal reported that interviewers were spending time with “high-quality candidates,” and the standardized process improved consistency across locations and hiring cycles.
