Ferdinand Bilstein - Customer Case Study

Ferdinand Bilstein, a supplier and manufacturer of automotive spare parts, faced logistical challenges requiring a reassessment of its supply chain network. The company needed a software solution to map its external transport and internal warehouse processes, specifically to integrate its complex storage rules and determine if its existing warehouse areas could handle a planned change in routing between its French and German facilities. They turned to vendor PSI Software for a solution using their PSIglobal service.

PSI Software implemented PSIglobal to create a digital twin of the supply chain. This allowed for recurring analysis and adaptation of logistics rules, leading to continuous process improvement. A successful model from a pilot project in France was rolled out to other regions, resulting in a more efficient and cost-effective supply chain. The solution optimized the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), improved warehouse capacity planning and utilization, and helped optimize lead times to effectively maintain service levels.
