The Deutsches Museum, the world's largest museum of science and technology located in Munich, faced a significant challenge in guiding its 1.5 million annual visitors through its vast 28,000+ square meter complex. The museum needed a way to enhance the visitor experience by providing guidance and highlighting important exhibits at the right time. To solve this, they partnered with vendor Proximi.io to utilize its high-accuracy indoor positioning technology.

Proximi.io implemented a solution by integrating its positioning algorithm into the museum's mobile app, which was developed by Fluxguide. The system was powered by a network of 500 beacons deployed across all exhibition areas, enabling precise location tracking even in difficult spaces. This resulted in enhanced visitor experience through improved wayfinding and engagement options, successfully completing the technological leap during the museum's recent renovation in 2022.
