The IGMA/Cargill bulk port terminal in Amsterdam Harbor required seamless network connectivity across its mobile shipping assets, such as floating cranes and weighing towers. The challenge was maintaining a reliable connection for real-time logistical data, especially as the unloading process caused vessels to rise and block existing Wi-Fi signals. Proxim Wireless was selected to provide a solution using its Tsunami® Point-to-Multipoint products.

Proxim Wireless implemented a solution using Tsunami® Base Stations on a central tower and Subscriber Units on the cranes. The result was a reliable, high-performance network that performs seamlessly despite distance over water and changing weather. This allowed the IGMA/Cargill team to work more efficiently, save time, and monitor all logistics without loss of information, with plans to extend the network to other areas.
