Somcan, a Pickering, Ontario supplier of name brand merchandise for the premium and incentives industry, was running a 100% paper warehouse operation as its inventory and product mix grew. Manual tracking made items harder to locate, counts less accurate, and order processing slower, which affected turnovers, invoicing, and customer service.

Somcan implemented proVision WMS with handheld scanners and integration to its shipping, accounting, and inventory systems. The vendor helped move orders from the ERP into the warehouse management system and back for billing, and Somcan reported much better accuracy and faster order turnaround. After two years, the company said business volumes had doubled, warehouse space was used more efficiently, and proVision WMS had improved productivity tracking and reduced the “not me” excuse.
