EUMETSAT, an international space-industry organisation in Germany, needed to move from its customised Hummingbird DocsOpen document management environment to Oracle UCM 11g while preserving strict document controls. The challenge involved migrating around half a million versioned documents with relationships, attachments, access rights, and audit history from a legacy system with complex virtual folders, links, and permission structures.
