Automated risk decisioning to support an unrivalled digital experience

BBVA, a global bank with 7,432 branches and 80.7 million customers (including 37 million digital customers), needed a flexible, scalable risk decisioning solution to standardize and automate SME and commercial lending processes and deliver a consistent global digital experience. To meet that challenge BBVA selected Provenir and its Decisioning Cloud to provide automated risk decisioning, data collection, and repeatable, customer-focused processes across its worldwide footprint.

Provenir was implemented as BBVA’s risk decisioning engine for SME and commercial lines, leveraging a microservices architecture so BBVA can design once and deploy globally (implementations complete in Spain, Turkey and Mexico, with further plans underway). The solution automated data gathering, underwriting, rating and limit setting, and allowed BBVA to apply location- and client-specific rules while retaining in-house autonomy to adapt models—producing faster, more consistent decisions across thousands of branches and improved customer perceptions and experience.
