How Warner Bros. Discovery Uses ProtoPie for Product Innovation & Motion Design

Warner Bros. Discovery's motion design team, led by Motion Designer Mia Vidamour, faced the challenge of integrating motion design early in the product development process to create intuitive user experiences, particularly for a project revamping the Cartoonito app for young children. The challenge was to design a new, visual-centric navigation system that was engaging for pre-literate users and to effectively communicate this complex, motion-led concept to stakeholders. They turned to the prototyping tool ProtoPie to create high-fidelity prototypes.

Using ProtoPie, the team imported assets from Figma and built a complex, interactive prototype of the new spinning-world navigation. Key features like the ProtoPie Player allowed for easy sharing with international team members, while integrations with LottieFiles and conditions enabled sophisticated animations and interactions. The solution from ProtoPie resulted in a successful handoff to developers; the final deployed app looked identical to the prototype and led to positive outcomes with both stakeholders and end-users.
