ZERMATTVIEW, a design project inspired by the Matterhorn, needed a manufacturing solution that would make its artistic 3D model affordable and accessible to a wider audience. The team worked with Protolabs to turn the concept into an injection-moulding-ready product, using Protolabs’ design optimisation and injection moulding services.

Protolabs optimized the model into a production-ready CAD file in about ten working sessions, helped refine the assembly features, and delivered a high-end ABS part with a mirror-polished Class A finish straight out of the mould. The result was a visually striking, customizable souvenir product that met the creators’ aesthetic requirements without any post-processing, demonstrating Protolabs’ ability to move quickly from prototype to production.
