T+A elektroakustik Luxury headphones developed with Protolabs' injection moulding service

T+A elektroakustik, a manufacturer of high-end audio equipment, sought to develop two new pairs of luxury headphones that would meet its exacting standards for audio quality. The challenge was to create a complex headphone shell that could accommodate high-quality internal components like magnets and diaphragms without compromising on the project's vision of luxury. To achieve this, they turned to Protolabs for its injection moulding service.

Protolabs provided a complete manufacturing solution, using CNC milling for the aluminium shell of the Solitaire P model and injection moulding for the plastic shell of the more affordable Solitaire P-SE. The collaboration was highly efficient, with the teams working closely to solve complex design challenges. The result was that T+A was able to bring both high-end headphone models to market in an exceptionally short timeframe, with only six months passing from the initial project contact to the first sales.
