Sprowt Labs Taps Cool Idea Award to Help Develop Malting Machine for Home Brewers

Sprowt Labs, a Minneapolis-based startup, developed the Acro, a small-batch home malting machine, but faced a manufacturing challenge. The complex design and need for a quick turnaround led other contract manufacturers to turn them down, threatening their product's quality and launch timeline. Sprowt Labs applied for and received the Cool Idea Award from Protolabs to help overcome this.

Protolabs provided injection molding services to manufacture a critical humidifier box for the Acro. This solution accelerated Sprowt Labs' manufacturing, reduced the cost per product, and resulted in a higher quality, more efficient final machine ready for market launch.
