Small Robot Company Protolabs climbs aboard the fourth agri-revolution

Small Robot Company, an agri-tech innovator building autonomous precision farming robots, needed two 3D-printed parts for its Tom V4 robot on a very tight deadline: an SSD mount and a steering actuator cap. The parts had to be lightweight, durable, and suitable for end-use on a modular robot platform, while also helping protect sensitive internal components from dust and water.

Protolabs supported Small Robot Company with rapid quoting, design feedback, and additive manufacturing using Multi Jet Fusion. Protolabs helped improve the steering actuator cap design for easier assembly and even post-processed parts to achieve the required black finish. The result was fast delivery of functional, end-use components that met both performance and aesthetic needs, helping Small Robot Company advance its Tom V4 platform efficiently.
